   I’m Mary Ellen’s great grandson. Her son Walter L. Tye was my grandfather (mother Edith’s father).

   We saw Mary Ellen about once a month until she passed. I was about 11 years old at the time.

      Hello Steven, When I saw your last name, Johnson, I knew right away you must be related to Edith Mary and Walter. Your mother and my mother, Beatrice Ethel Tye Rowe were first cousins, so we are second cousins. Your grandfather, Walter, and my grandfather,Lloyd Chester Tye were brothers. Really glad you found our Tye family website. We are just getting started and it would be great if you have any information or pictures to contribute. We are particularly interested in learning more about our great grandmother, Mary Ellen. She was apparently adopted and we can find no trace of her lineage. Thanks again for joining the conversation.
